ISLAMABAD – Asad Umar is likely to rejoin federal cabinet.
As per details garnered, former finance minister called on Prime Minister(PM) Imran Khan here in the federal capital today.
Sources privy to development has stated that huddle between PM Khan andAsad Umar is part of former’s plan to convince latter to rejoin the federalcabinet.
Back then in April, PM Khan had sacked Asad Umar as finance minister. LaterDr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh had succeeded Asad Umar as special advisor to PM onfinance.
SBP—in March this year—had cut Pakistan’s GDP rate to bleak 3.5pc,well-short of early target of 6pc. During the incumbent government’stenure, inflation has also soared to 9.41pc, highest in past six years.
Earlier yesterday, PM Imran Khan—during a meeting withjournalists—announced that Shabbar Zaidi had been appointed as the newchairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
