ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Saturday hashinted at quitting politics after completing ML-1 and Nullah Lai projects.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the minister said that PakistanRailways was neglected in the past and not a single penny was spent on it.Political thieves have looted the country with corruption of engines worthRs1 billion, he added.
The minister said Pakistan Railways will be developed on modern lines tomake it a profitable entity.
He said as a result of the measures taken by present government, therevenue of passenger trains witnessed an increase of four billion rupees ascompared to last year.
Sheikh Rasheed said efforts are also being made to increase the number offreight trains. He said an agreement has been signed with Pakistan AirForce for supply of oil.
