ISLAMABAD – To ensure speedy communication in society through post service,Pakistan Post has taken revolutionary steps to adopt modern technology inits working to improve efficiency and expand its network across the globe.
The spokesperson of Pakistan Post Zakirullah, while talking to theAssociated Press of Pakistan (APP) said that we have taken comprehensivemeasure to develop a better image of its services among the public bymaking sure that we make timely deliveries of money, mail, and otherarticles.
He stated that the projects like Electronic Money Order (EMO), same-daydelivery services and e-commerce initiatives produced sound results andreceived amazing feedback from the public. Through the EMO service,consumers can send up to 50,000 rupees, and to further ensure ease for itscustomerslinkPost started to offer this service at all General Post Offices as a windowservice as well. He also pointed out that, “Affordability is also acornerstone of its policy due to the growing competitiveness in the postalmarket”.
Zakirullah said, *“If a consumer transfers money through a mobile companythey charge him/her Rs. 2500 for the transfer Rs 25,000, while PakistanPost only charges Rs. 550 for the transfer of Rs. 50,000”.*
He further said that the need of e-governance in the postal services wasincreasing due to the changing trends in the communications market, andMurad Saeed, the Federal Minister for Postal Services was the firstminister ever to suggest the integration of this system in the PakistanPost.
