PESHAWAR – A local court had on March 27 awarded death penalty anda fine of 0.6 million rupees to a rapist uncle of Pashto singer NaziaIqbal’s daughters.
However, After two months, the singer is being pressured by her mother topardon her brother for his crimes.
“My mother is begging me to spare my brother’s life for her sake,” thesinger said in a video message.
Upon refusing her mother’s request initially, Nazia opened discussion overher brother’s fate on social media. While some hailed Nazia’s decision toremain steadfast, others hurled abuses at her for bringing a bad name toher family.
Rawalpindi Additional District and Sessions Judge Tahir Aslam announced theverdict against accused Iftikhar Ali, the real brother of Nazia after hewas declared guilty of raping minor girls.
Nazia, reacting on the sentence, thanked the court in a video message. Shesaid she felt satisfaction as she got justice.

Nazia had alleged last year in April that her two daughters were subjectedto rape and sexual abuse by their maternal uncle for many months.
Following her complaints, police had arrested the prime suspect afterregistering a case against him.
