Former PM Nawaz Sharif files yet another petition in Supreme Court fearing irreparable loss

*ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif filed a petition in theSupreme Court seeking extension in his six-week interim bail on medicalgrounds on Tuesday.*

In the petition filed through Khawaja Haris, he stated that he had filed areview petition against the March 26 verdict.

He said that his bail should be extended till verdict on his reviewpetition. “I may suffer an irreparable loss if my bail was not extended,”he requested.

On April 25, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who got bail on medicalgrounds for six weeks, sought permission to go abroad for medical treatment.

Nawaz Sharif submitted a review petition in Supreme Court seeking permanentbail. In the petition filed by the PML-N leader has requested the court toreview their decision and grant bail to go London for treatment.

The petition further stated that the treatment only possible from thedoctor who already had treated him.

The patient has severe issue of heart, blood pressure, kidneys and liver.It added that he is suffering level three diseases. The petitioner alsoadopted the stance, on his 15 page petition, the apex court had not allowedhim to go abroad in his previous bail plea, adding that the court reviewhis petition for permanent bail.

Earlier on March 26,* the Supreme Court granted bail to former premierNawaz Sharif*linkonmedical grounds for six weeks in the Al-Azizia reference.

In addition, the court also suspended the sentence for six weeks. The courtalso stopped Nawaz Sharif from going abroad. However, he will be free toget treatment from anywhere in the country.
