ISLAMABAD – The Senate today passed two resolutions recommending thegovernment to take necessary steps to discourage excessive use of plasticin government departments and to acquire possession of all the land inZone-1 in Islamabad, earmarked for green belts in master plan and makeplantation on the same irrespective of its present status of development.
The House which met with Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani in the chair also passedfour bills.
The bills include The Exit from Pakistan (Control) (Amendment) Bill, 2018”,“The Banking Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2018”, “The Trained ParamedicalStaff Facility Bill, 2018”, and “The Child Marriage Restraint (Amendment)Bill, 2018.
Responding to a motion, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Khan Swatitold the Senate that a task force has been formed to address the issue ofgrowing population in the country.
He stressed the need for creating awareness and educating the masses toovercome population explosion.
The Minister said all provinces have agreed on the recommendations ofCouncil of Common Interest regarding population control.
The House will now meet at three in the afternoon, tomorrow.
