PM Imran Khan met Chinese Vice President at a dinner banquet

BEIJING – Prime Minister Imran Khan met Vice President of China Mr. WangQishan in Beijing on Saturday.

The premier was flanked by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Adviseron Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Adviser on Trade Abdul Razzaq Dawood,Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Federal Minister for WaterResources Faisal Vawda, Federal Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan, Advisoron Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam and other senior officials during themeeting.

The Chinese Vice President also hosted a banquet for the Pakistani primeminister and the delegation of Pakistan on behalf of President Xi Jinping.link

During the meeting both the sides discussed ways to cement ties between thetwo countries in diverse fields.

The prime minister is on a four-day official visit to China to attend thesecond Belt and Road Forum.

Earlier in the day, the prime minister stressed the need for furtherboosting connectivity under the umbrella of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Addressing Leader’s Roundtable Session of 2nd Belt and Road Forum, he saidwe should also consider digital connectivity, mobility of labour andtransfer of skills, cultural links and knowledge and innovationconnectivity to further expand the scope of the BRI.
