Good News for Pakistan’s Shadab Khan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s young leg-spinner, Shadab Khan is likely to recovercompletely before the World Cup 2019, suggested hepatitis specialist, DrPatrick Kennedy on Friday after the initial check-up.

Shadab Khan was diagnosed with Hepatitis C Virus in a blood test conductedby the Pakistan Cricket Board ahead of the mega cricketing event. The virusforced him to get rest during the ODI series against England.

“Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the series against England after testsrevealed a virus that will require treatment and rest for, at least, fourweeks,” the chief selector, Inzamam Ul Haq had announced on Sunday.

He was expected to regain fitness in the next four to five weeks and thedoctor has confirmed it now after analysing his blood report. Khan is beingcurrently treated in England.

Yasir Shah, the 20-year-old’s fellow spinner, replaced him for the Englandseries, which is scheduled to start from May 5.
