Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed fined by ICC

NOTTINGHAM – Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed fined 20 percent of his matchfee for a minor overrate offence during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cupmatch against England at Trent Bridge.

According to ICC media release on Tuesday, the players, besides Sarfraz,were fined 10% each as well.

Pakistan was ruled to be one over short of its target after time allowanceswere taken into consideration.

Sarfraz Ahmed admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed bymatch referee Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Refereesand, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires Marais Erasmus and S Ravi, third umpire RuchiraPalliyaguruge and fourth official Chris Gaffney levelled the charges.
