Shabnam Gul, sister of Zartaj Gul appointed as Director in National Counter Terrorism Authority NACTA

LAHORE – Federal Minister of Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir wrote a letterto appoint her sister Shabnam Gul as the new director of the NationalCounter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) for three years on Saturday.

Shabnam was working as an assistant professor at the Lahore College forWomen University and sent to NACTA as a Grade-19 officer on deputation.

According to Dunya News, emergency NACTA committee was also requested topropose Shabnam Gul as the new director. Zartaj Gul called InteriorSecretary Azam Suleman Khan for her sister appointment whereas she alsowrote him a letter afterwards.

Dunya News received the official copy of the letter written by thePrincipal Staff Officer Sami-ul-Haq which stated that he was directed torefer the telephonic conversation Zartaj Gul made to Azam Suleman regardingher sister appointment in NACTA.

After Interior Secretary received the letter on Feb 27, NACTA was orderedto follow rules and policies according to the law. State Minister forClimate informed that her sister has a PhD in terrorism so she should beconsidered for the post.

As per sources, Ministry of Interior expressed that it was the duty ofNACTA to verify her PhD. They just handed her over to Ministry of Interiorto gain the government loyalty.

Sources futher informed that Shabnam Gul took admission in a university topursue PhD in the Political Science and even after nine years she has notyet completed her degree. Zartaj Gul sent Shabnam’s clearance from LahoreCollege for Women University to Prime Minister on the pertaining matter.
