Pakistan foreign minister reveals official stance over Regional tensions

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says dialogue is the onlyway forward to sort out all outstanding issues between Pakistan and Indiain the best interest of the region.

In an interview with a private news channel, he said Islamabad has only onestance which is maintenance of peace and stability in the region as war isnot solution to any problem.

Foreign Minister said Pulwama incident has nothing to do with Pakistan andnow world community has also acknowledged this fact.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has welcomed Narendra Modi on electionvictory as a goodwill gesture.

Regarding his interaction with the Iranian Foreign Minister during hisrecent visit to Pakistan, he said his Iranian counterpart explained hiscountry’s position and Pakistan also shared its concerns. He said thatPakistan never wants any escalation of tension and the region could notafford any war.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the region had already faced devastation due toprevailing situation in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya besides anuncertainly across the Middle East.

He said Pakistan desires peaceful resolution of all the issues throughdiplomatic negotiations.
