RAWALPINDI – Iranian FM Javed Zarif holds important meeting with PakistanArmy Chief General Qamar Javaid Bajwa.

Iranian Foreign Minister Dr Mohammad Javed Zarif on Friday called on Chiefof Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the Pakistan Army’sGeneral Headquarters, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

Matters of mutual interest and evolving situation in the region werediscussed during the meeting, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

The COAS said that war was not in anyone’s interest and that all sides needto make efforts to keep conflict away from the region.

The Iranian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s positive role forregional peace and stability, the ISPR said.
