ISLAMABAD – At the United Nations, Pakistan has underscored the need forkeeping UN Peace building Commission financially strong to meet thereconstruction needs of post-conflict countries.
Speaking at UN General Assembly, Pakistan’s permanent representative toUnited Nations Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi said the commission has contributedsignificantly to peace building efforts undertaken by countries emergingfrom conflict.
She said Pakistan fully appreciates the importance of peace to sustain thegains achieved by peacekeeping missions.
