Saudi Arabia opens new mosque in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI – Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malkion Saturday inaugurated the King Abdul Aziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud Mosquein northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Built to accommodate up to 500 worshippers, the mosque has been constructedas part of charitable projects carried out by the Muslim World League (MWL)through the International Association for Relief, Care and Development(IARCD) in Pakistan, the Arab News reported.

The Saudi envoy said the mosque represented a milestone in the friendshipbetween the two countries and was a continuation of similar charity workcarried out by the Kingdom.

University of Haripur president, Anwar Gilani, thanked Saudi Arabia for itsleadership on the landmark mosque project which he said highlighted thefriendship between the two countries.
