F 16 fighter jet crashed, Pilot ejected safely

WASHINGTON – An F-16 fighter jet crashed into a warehouse near the MarchAir Reserve Base in Riverside County, California. Though 12 minor injurieswere reported in the accident, fortunately no one was killed.

The F-16 was en route to the base in Moreno Valley following a routinetraining mission when it suffered a hydraulics failure, *according to the**LosAngeles Times*link.Seconds before the jet crashed, the pilot was forced to eject, said March’sdeputy fire chief, Timothy Holliday.

The Sioux Falls-based pilot, whose name was not reported, was taken to thehospital after the crash, but wasn’t hurt.

The jet crashed into the 500,000-square-foot warehouse operated by SeeWater, Inc., which builds products for various industries including HVACand wastewater, *according to CNN*link.

No smoke or fire could be seen at the scene, per the *L.A. Times*, butlocal broadcasts did show a hole in the roof of the warehouse where the jetmade impact.
