Key Islamic country expressed keen interest to make big investment in Gwadar

ISLAMABAD – There were many companies in UAE which were keen to invest inGwadar and they recently visited Pakistan for the purpose,” the Ambassadorof the United Arab Emirates Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi stated in ameeting with the Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue and EconomicAffairs Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, on Tuesday.

Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to promote bilateralties and emphasized the need to further promote economic and traderelations between the two countries.

The Ambassador reiterated his country’s commitment to stand by Pakistan inits time of economic crisis. Meanwhile, the Adviser told him that Pakistanhighly valued its ties with UAE which had always extended support toPakistan in difficult times. He said both countries needed to realize thefull potential of their ties by encouraging the private sector to come andinvest in Pakistan. He also thanked the UAE government for providingfinancial support to Pakistan under the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

He also briefed the Ambassador about the vision of Prime Minister ofPakistan, adding the Prime Minister sincerely wanted to do something forthe development of the country and, in this regard, he has developed goodpartnership with international community.

The Ambassador said both Pakistan and UAE needed to work together tofurther upgrade their ties aiming at developing strategic partnership. Heinformed that he was optimistic that the current high level of exchangesbetween the two countries would open the door of investment in Pakistan.
