*ISLAMABAD – Over the issue of **Assets declaration Scheme 2019 deadlineextension the FBR Chairman has clarified the media reports.*

*Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Shabbar Zaidi has categoricallysaid that the Amnesty Scheme is not being extended.*

In a statement on Saturday, he said that as many as 20,000 people haddeclared their assets under the Amnesty Scheme. “Only 30,000 peoplesubmitted their tax returns and a total tax of Rs30 billion was collected,”he said.

He said that all field offices of the FBR will remain open till 8pm on June29 and till 11pm on June 30.

“All-out support will be extended to the people declaring their assetsunder the Assets Declaration Ordinance 2019 till June 30,” the FBR chairmansaid.

He added the step has been taken to facilitate the taxpayers in payment ofduties and taxes and filing of income tax return.
