ISLAMABAD – Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi set a new World recordduring the ongoing 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup matchagainst Afghanistan in Leeds.
Shaheen, who is only 19-year-old, registered figures of 4-47 and in doingso he became the first teenager in the Cricket World Cup history to takefour wickets in a match.
It must be noted that Shaheen also impressed with the ball, duringPakistan’s previous match against New Zealand, when his 10-over spell,where he registered figures of 3-28, was the most economical spell by aPakistani bowler in the past 5 World Cups.
The left-arm pacer’s bowling helped Pakistan restrict Afghanistan to 227-9in their allotted 50 overs, after Gulbadin Naib won the toss and decided tobat first.
