*ISLAMABAD: Former director general Intelligence Bureau (IB) Aftab Sultan,the civilian** spy agency Chief appears before NAB. *
*He on Monday appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) torecord his statement in an investigation into bulletproof vehicle case.*
Sultan appeared before NAB’s Rawalpindi chapter to record his statementafter being summoned by the anti-graft watchdog body.
Former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have alreadyrecorded their statement in the case.
According to the NAB 34, bulletproof vehicles were procured from Germanyfor the guest of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation(SAARC) conference. The vehicles were bought without paying import duty, itadded.

It may be noted that last week, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)had decided to transform bulletproof vehicle case inquiry into theinvestigation against former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid KhaqanAbbasi.
The approval was given in an anti-graft watchdog body’s executive boardmeeting chaired by it’s chief Justice retired Javed Iqbal, at the bureau’sheadquarters.
Talking on the occasion, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal had said taking themega corruption cases to the logical conclusion is the foremost priority ofthe bureau.
