*ISLAMABAD – The 54th meeting of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Board ofGovernors (BoG) was held on Wednesday, where the board admitted thatPakistan team’s performance at the ongoing World Cup is below expectation.*
Therefore, the board members have agreed to carry-out review and analysisof the side and the team support personnel’s performances in the past threeyears and submit their recommendations to the PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani andthe BoG for their consideration.
The BoG members, however, hoped that the team will utilise all their talentand potential in the remaining matches to bounce back strongly and finishon a high.
They have also principally approved the proposal to commercialise the BugtiCricket Stadium, Quetta. It was agreed that a Working Group be set-up,which will draft and submit detailed proposals to the BoG for its approval.
“I am grateful to the BoG for their support and the approval of the BugtiCricket Stadium’s commercialization with an aspiration of becoming aworld-class centre. This will prove to be a game-changer for Quetta and theregion as it will generate significant revenues that will be reinvestedinto cricket to provide bigger and better opportunities for the wholecommunity,” said PCB chairman.
Furthermore, the BoG congratulated the PCB on earning the hosting rights ofthe ACC Asia Cup T20 2020 in September next year and appreciated the PCB’sefforts in engaging with the ICC Members as part of their efforts for thenormal resumption of international cricket in Pakistan.
