NEW DELHI – Taking its space missions to another level, India has announcedits plans of launching an entire space station in upcoming years for theastronauts.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) chief K Sivan revealed plans tolaunch up a space station like ISS in the year 2030. However, this 20-tonspace station would be a small one where astronauts would only be able tostay for up to 15 to 20 days.
“We are planning to have a space station for India, our own space station,”Sivan said in a conference.
Sivan mentioned that though small, the space station would be enough toallow microgravity experiments. He asserted that the country won’t dependon and collaborate with other countries either, as per *Engadget.*
Moreover, further details for the project are expected to come in afterIndia’s first human mission scheduled to take place in 2022. For now, thecountry is focused on an uncrewed lander mission, called Chandrayaan-2, tothe moon that is slated to launch on July 15, as per *NDTV.*
