Pakistani city ranked 2nd hottest on the globe

LAHORE – Of the 15 hottest places in the world in the past 24 hours, fourwere in Pakistan according to weather monitoring website El Dorado onMonday.

The second and third rankings among the world’s 15 hottest places were bothin India, but Pakistan grabbed the fourth and fifth spots with two othercities. Padidan, which is the southern part of Sindh province, and Sibi,which is in Balochistan, both registered temperatures above 118 degreesFahrenheit (48 degrees Celsius). Pakistan also grabbed the eight spot onthe list of the world’s 15 hottest places for Rohri, which is in the Sukkurdistrict of Sindh province.

On the Pakistani side, Jacobabad topped the charts with a scorching high of51 degrees Celsius. Then you have the cities that were in the range of 45to 50 degrees Celsius. These included Multan, Lahore, Larkana, Rohri, RahimYar Khan, Bahawalnagar, and a few more.

Last year, Karachi experienced the hottest day of the year on Thursday asthe temperature soared to 44 degrees Celsius after the sea breeze towardsthe city stopped due to a low pressure area on upper Sindh.
