WASHINGTON – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo unveils President DonaldTrump’s priorities in Afghanistan war.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a meeting with Australian DefenseMinister Linda Reynolds in Sydney reiterated that the US President DonaldTrump is seeking a political solution which will pave the ground for troopreduction in Afghanistan.

“(US) President (Donald) Trump has made very clear that his desire is thatwe develop a diplomatic resolution that permits us to reduce the resourcesthat are located in the country, while simultaneously ensuring thatAfghanistan never again becomes a platform (from) where terror can strikethe United States of America,” Pompeo said.

His remarks come as the eighth round of US-Taliban talks which seem to thebe last round of the negotiations are underway in Doha where troopwithdrawal is one of the main issues under debate.
