ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan who is Patron in Chief ofthe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the new domestic cricketstructure on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the country’s new cricket structure is purelyregion-based where total six regional teams will be part of the newdomestic setup. Two teams from Punjab and one each from Sindh, KhyberPakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan/Azad Kashmir and Balochistan will play thefirst-class cricket.
Moreover, cricket at grass root level will also be strengthen following thefootsteps of new domestic structure.

Earlier, PM Khan rejected the board’s proposed domestic cricket model asPCB had decided to strip departments of their playing rights. The idea wasturned down by the Prime Minister, who does not want departments in thesystem in any capacity.
