Inflation in Pakistan rises in month of June 2019

ISLAMABAD: Inflation in the month of June 2019 was recorded at 8.89percent, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics(PBS), reflecting an increase of 0.36 percent as opposed to May.

The PBS noted that inflation rate for the fiscal year 2018-19 wasregistered at 7.34 percent.

The PBS further provided details on some individual products and how muchtheir prices rose in June 2019.

The prices of potatoes, ginger, and sugar bumped up 17, nine, and sixpercent, respectively, whereas daal-e-moong (mung bean or green gram) anddaal-e-maash (white gram or white lentils) were respectively five and 3.69percent costlier.
