LAHORE – Government College University Lahore, one of the noted educationalinstitutions, becomes the talk of the town as PML-N leaders demanded actionagainst its Vice Chancellor for allowing ousted PM Imran Khan to address atthe varsity.
Many old Ravians, activists, and politicians, including the daughter offormer PM Maryam Nawaz, slammed authorities after the use of the varsity’spremises for political gatherings with students chanting slogans againstruling alliance leaders.
Some accused that vice-chancellors affiliated with the leading politicalparty to get promotions, maintaining students are restricted from raisingtheir voices on social issues.
As the issue garnered attention, #RemoveVCofGCU started trending on socialsites where social media users, activists, and political parties demandedthe removal of GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi.
In a tweet, the PML-N vice president called for strict action against thevice chancellor (VC) for allowing Imran Khan to conduct a rally on thepremises of the educational institution. No one will be allowed to use theeducational institution to spread hate.
