Pakistani flood affected people forced to drink toxic water

The apathy of the Khairpur administration has reached its pinnacle as ithas failed to provide clean potable waterlink to people who are compelled to drinktoxic link stagnant floodwater thus puttingtheir lives at risk, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Reportedly, people in Nathan Shah are risking their lives when they areconsuming dirty stagnant floodwater in view of non-availability of cleandrinking water link. Instead of providingpotable water link, the administration hasinstalled a filter plant in a vehicle to purify the contaminated stagnantfloodwater.

After drinking this water link, severalpeople including hundreds of children have fallen prey to a host ofdiseases.

As six-foot stagnant floodwater is still submerging Khairpur Nathan Shahlink and people arecompelled to drink dirty water link and areliving in soiled and sub-human conditions, the area has literally turnedinto a den of infectious diseases.

As many as 90% flood link affectees aresuffering from malaria and more than two dozen have succumbed to variousdiseases.
