Pakistan FM Qureshi held important meeting with Chinese counterpart

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi held importantmeeting with Chinese counterpart over bilateral range of issues.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with his Chinese counterpart WangYi on Saturday and discussed regional and bilateral matters, according to apress statement by the Foreign Office.

The delegation-level talks between Pakistan and China were held today inIslamabad. The Pakistani delegation was led by Foreign Minister ShahMahmood Qureshi and included Foreign Secretary, Sohail Mahmood, AdditionalSecretary (Asia Pacific), Zahoor Ahmed, Director General (China), MuhammadMudassir Tipu and other senior officials from the Ministry of ForeignAffairs.

The Chinese delegation was led by State Councilor and FM Wang Yi, andincluded China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, Vice FM Luo Zhaohui andother senior officials from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two delegations had an in-depth exchange of views on the entirespectrum of bilateral relations and regional matters, particularly thecurrent situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.

The press statement said that the two sides also exchanged views on theAfghan Peace Process.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi briefed the Chinese side on theevolving situation in occupied Kashmir following India’s unilateral andillegal actions of August 5.
