Mobile services likely to Be shutdown during Ashura

KARACHI – Sindh government is considering shutting down cell service inKarachi during Ashura.

According to sources, the government has finalized security arrangementsfor mourning processions on 8th, 9th, and 10th Muharram and blocking mobilenetworks on the route of the procession is one of the options on the table.

The sources said that the Secretary Interior has suggested blocking mobileservices in parts of the metropolis. The provincial government hasforwarded the proposal to the federal government for the final decision.
