Foreign TV Channel awarded broadcasting rights of PCB domestic cricket season without any bid and for free

ISLAMABAD – Foreign TV Channel awarded broadcasting rights of PCB domesticcricket season without any bid and for free.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has awarded the broadcasting rights ofdomestic cricket to a foreign channel without an open bid and payment.

A PCB official claimed that the bid wasn’t open to put a dispute at restand no further information was provided. However, it is believed that PCBwants to increase the international coverage of the domestic circuit.

It is understood that the channel which acquired the broadcasting rights isa partner of the PCB and after taking legal advice, PCB has given therights away without any payment.

The channel which has got the broadcasting rights is a partner of the PCB.After taking legal advice, the PCB has given the broadcasting rights ofPakistan domestic cricket without payment.

The foreign channel will telecast the following tournaments live:

– National T20 Cup for 10 days – Pakistan Cup for 10 days – Final of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for five days.

The PCB spokesman said the PCB media partner has given 25-day free air timeto show cricket live.
