Driverless cars to ploy on Roads of Pakistan, announces PTI government

ISLAMABAD – Driverless cars to ploy on Roads of Pakistan, announces PTIgovernment Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry.

Chaudhry on Tuesday said that self-driving cars would be rolled out onroads in the next few years.

He maintained that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government plans toensure all commuters understand these latest technologies.

Talking to a private news channel, Fawad said that his ministry wascommitted to introduce latest technology in every field, and in next fewyears, driverless cars would be introduced in country, and that has alreadybeen included in the ministry’s plan.

Self-driving cars could reduce road deaths in the country by 90%, heassured.

He said Pakistan has all pieces of infrastructure in place to welcometechnology with open arms, adding, Google is near final stages of testingfor its autonomous car programme for hassle-free motorway driving.
