New Delhi – Russia strongly responds over Pakistan India nuclear war riskrhetoric, advises India for dialogues with Pakistan.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled meeting with Russialink President Vladimir Putin inVladivostok next week, Russia link onWednesday expressed concern over the escalated tensions between two nuclearpower–India link and Pakistanlink.
Maintaining that “rhetoric has grown” in Indialink and Pakistanlink regarding Jammu andKashmir’s reorganisation, Russialink expressed hope that thesituation would not lead to escalation of tension between both thecountries.
Roman Babushkin link,minister counsellor and deputy chief of the mission said that bothcountries should resort to dialogue and defuse the tension throughpolitical diplomacy.
Responding to Defence minister Rajnath Singh’s remark that Indialink will relook at its no-firstpolicy pertaining to use of nuclear power, Babushkin said, “Both countriesare non-official nuclear powers. And that makes us more concerned about thesituation.
Rhetoric has grown from both sides, we hope it would not lead to realescalation. We hope it can resolve through political diplomacy anddialogue. We are providing dialogue on platforms like Shanghai Cooperationand BRICS.”
