NEW DELHI – In a BJP government anti Muslim agenda, Delhi’s historicstadium named after Muslim King renamed after Hindu Minister
Indian cricketing authorities have changed the name of a cricket groundmerely because it was named after a Muslim King.
The Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi has now been renamed afterIndia’s former Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, who died recently on August24 at the age of 66. The BJP leader enjoyed the portfolio of FinanceMinistry during Narendra Modi’s first term in power from 2014-19.
Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has taken the decision torename the iconic stadium as Arun Jaitley Stadium after the association’sformer president.
DDCA president, Rajat Sharma told a local news outlet gave a uniqueexplanation for the move:
We are not changing the name. It will remain Feroz Shah Kotla ground. Itwill also be called Arun Jaitley Stadium. It is an addition to that (oldname).
