ISLAMABAD – Leading international daily Wall Street Journal says India`sbrutal crackdown in Occupied Kashmir has pushed the entire region to adeeper crisis.
In its report, the paper says through forceful annexation and change instatus of the disputed Kashmir region, India has lost the hearts and mindsof Kashmiri people.
The paper further notes that Indian authorities have arrested hundreds ofpolitical leaders, activists, businessmen, students and teachers and havedeclined to allow the media or their supporters to meet them.
The paper quotes an Indian professor Happymon Jacob as saying that theIndian government did not take this decision after consulting politicalleaders because it knew there wouldn’t have been a consensus and now allthese political parties will come together and rally under one banner, witha common demand which would be the reinstatement of Article 370.
