Pakistan FM Qureshi holds contact with UN Secretary General today over Occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi holds contactwith UN Secretary General today over Occupied Kashmir.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood QureshilinkSaturday will speak with United Nations Secretary General (UNSG) AntónioGuterres and discuss India’s human rights violations and the securitysituation in Occupied Kashmir.

Foreign Minister Qureshi is expected to speak with UNSG Guterres who is inParis at approximately 5PM today.

Occupied Kashmir has been under curfew and lockdown since August 5 afterthe Indian government abolished Article 370, which granted special statusto the valley. The curfew and lockdown have led to protests in the valleywith thousands of Kashmiris including Hurriyat leaders placed under housearrest or detained.

UN-based organisation Genocide watch has issued an alert and urged theUnited Nations and its members to warn India not to commit genocide inoccupied Kashmir.
