TEHRAN – Iran unveiled a locally upgraded missile defense system today thatis able to defend against cruise and ballistic missiles.
Iranian media said the “Falaq radar system” is an upgraded and overhauledversion of a foreign air defense radar system.
Commander of Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, Brigadier General AlirezaSabahi-Fard said the new system has high capabilities and can identify alltypes of cruise missiles, stealth planes, drone systems and ballisticmissiles within range of 400 kilometers.
