UNITED NATIONS, Aug 07 (APP):The United Nations is making contacts withIndia and Pakistan at “various levels” amid deteriorating situation betweenthe two South Asian neighbours resulting from New Delhi’s annexation of thedisputed Kashmir region, the Secretary-General spokesman said Wednesday.
Responding to questions at the regular noon briefing in New York, SpokesmanStephane Dujarric denied that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wasreluctant to get involved in resolving the grave situation between the twonuclear-armed countries.
“There is no reluctance on the part of the Secretary-General,” thespokesman said. “We are very well aware and following the situation with alot of concern.”
