ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Cricket team Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has been ditched byhis favourite head coach Mickey Arthur who has sought his replacement ascaptain.
Pakistan cricket team’s head coach, Mickey Arthur has suggested removal ofthe current skipper Sarfraz Ahmed as captain of the side, while he himselfseeks a two-year extension as the head coach.
According to sources, the South African did not have much of a praise forthe Champions Trophy-winning captain and suggested the young Shadab Khanand Babar Azam as his replacements in limited-over and Test cricketrespectively to lead the team.
“Arthur did have some negative things to say about Sarfaraz’s captaincyskills to the members,” the source said.
Arthur believes he can produce significant results if he is given anextension.
“I need two more years with the Pakistan team and then I can deliverremarkable results,” Arthur is cited telling the Committee, headed by PCBManaging Director Wasim Khan.
