ISLAMABAD – 14 US lawmakers including Indian American lawmaker makes strongdemand from PM Narendra Modi over Occupied Kashmir lockdown.
As per media report, Fourteen US lawmakers have urged Indian Prime MinisterNarendra Modi to address concerns over the human rights situation inoccupied Kashmir and lift the communications blackout in the territory.
The joint statement issued by Indian-American lawmaker Pramila Jayapalalong with 13 other US Congress members said the imposition of mediablackout starting August 5, left millions in Kashmir without access tomobile phones or the internet while many others have been detained.
As a result, family members in the United States and elsewhere are unableto contact their relatives and family members in occupied Kashmir, leadingto concerns about their welfare.
