ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the country cannot make progress if planning is made only for the election.
Addressing a ceremony to launch Pakistan's first Green Eurobond on Monday, he said that the main reason behind lack of progress is scarcity of lon-term planning.
"Plans are made in the country, but unluckily they are not implemneted," he maintained.
The prime minister said that the work done by the government should have been done 50 years ago.
Earlier, he issued Green Eurobond to raise US$500 million for financing of Diamar Bhasha and Mohmand Dam.
The Green Eurobond is being issued on the basis of WAPDA's stable financial position instead of state-guarantee. The world's largest financial institutions have shown extraordinary interest in Green Eurobond which is a sign of confidence in the stable financial position of Pakistan and WAPDA as well.
The extraordinary response to Green Eurobond in the world financial market has opened new avenues for financing of big projects in Pakistan.
