Army Chief witnesses military exercises in Turk city of Izmir

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif witnessed military exercises here at today in Turkey and held meetings with Turkish President Tayyib Erdagon and military leadership.

According to ISPR, Army Chief General Raheel witnessed multinational military exercises in Turkish city of Izmir while Turkish President and military officials thanked Army Chief for participating in military exercises.

Army Chief was welcomed by Turkish Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar upon his arrival at Izmir while Pakistan, Turkey, USA, British, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Qatar and Azerbaijan troops participated in the exercises.

Later Army Chief held separate meetings with Turkish President and Chief of General Staff and discussed further enhancement in both countries ties.

At the occasion, President Erdagon lauded the achievements of Pak Army in operation Zarb-e-Azab and emphasized to enahance existing close friendly ties between both countries.

He added that Army Chief presence in the military exercises would further strengthen the bilateral ties of Pakistan and Turkey.
