Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has disqualified Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Kashif Chaudhry from for holding fake degree.
The court has also ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to disqualify the MPA.
The petition to disqualify Kashif was filed by Abdul Ghaffar under the Article 62 of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
According to the petitioner, the administration of Al-Khair University has confirmed that PML-N’s MPA was never enrolled in the university. Hence, he is not an honest person thus the court should disqualify him.
Court, while disqualifying the MPA, also ordered ECP to de-notify him.
It is noteworthy that PML-N’s Kashif Chaudhry had defeated PTI’s Muhammad Muzaffar Khan by a margin of four thousand votes.
