ISLAMABAD - A Pakistani flag has been raised in Indian state of Kerala by Muslims Students Union.

Amid heightened tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad following the abrogation of occupied Kashmir’s special status, at least 30 students have been booked in the Indian state of Kerala for waving a large flag similar to that of Pakistan inside their college campus on Thursday, according to the report published in *The Quint*quoting *ANI*.

The incident took place at the Perambra Silver College in Kozhikode district where the students, who belonged to Muslim Students Front (MSF) were taking out a procession for the union elections inside the college campus when they allegedly waved a Pakistani flag.

However, students denied the allegations and said they were waving the MSF flag but the large size of the flag created confusion.

According to *ANI*, an investigation into the matter is being carried out to ascertain the identity of the students.

This is not the first instance when such incident took place, in the past Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat warned that those who wave Pakistani flags in occupied Kashmir would be dealt with force.
