CTD Foil Major Terror Plot, Arrest Five TTP and Al-Qaeda Terrorists in Karachi

Karachi – In a major breakthrough against terrorism, the Counter-TerrorismDepartment (CTD) in collaboration with federal intelligence agencies hasarrested five hardcore militants linked to the banned outfitsTehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent(AQIS).

According to security officials, the arrested terrorists have beenidentified as Allah Noor and Sarfaraz of TTP, along with AQIS operativesSaleem, Jahanzeb, and Imdadullah. Initial investigations reveal that thegroup was plotting high-profile terror attacks in Karachi and other majorcities.

Authorities recovered a cache of sophisticated weapons and explosives fromthe suspects. Officials added that the militants had received trainingabroad and were operating under direct instructions from their networks’leadership.

The CTD spokesperson stated that further interrogations are underway touncover details of their local facilitators and future plans. Security hasbeen tightened across sensitive installations in Karachi following thearrests.

Law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment to eliminatingterrorism from Pakistan, vowing that no elements involved in destabilizingthe country will be spared.
