KARACHI- PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh, who had been arrested outside theSindh High Court (SHC) yesterday, was presented before the Karachi ATCtoday. During the hearing, the police requested a physical remand of theformer Sindh opposition leader, but the ATC denied this request.
Despite the police’s request being rejected and the court ordering theimmediate release of the PTI Sindh chapter president, he was promptly takeninto custody by Sindh police in connection with another case shortly afterbeing released.
It’s worth noting that Haleem Adil Sheikh, a leader of PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf, was arrested outside the SHC. He had been the formeropposition leader in the Sindh Assembly and had gone missing after thevandalism on May 9. His arrest occurred after he arrived at the SHC seekingbail in relation to the vandalism case. The police had been seeking toarrest Sheikh in connection with the violence on May 9, and he is one ofthe few PTI leaders who have remained loyal to the party.
Earlier in the day, he challenged his non-bailable arrest warrants from ananti-terrorism court in Hyderabad for the May 9 incident at the Sindh HighCourt. Sheikh claimed to have obtained protective bail from the PeshawarHigh Court (PHC), and the Sindh High Court had also prohibited his arrestin any case.
