Dr. Firdous calls for strengthening cooperation b/w Pakistan Britain in field of media

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has called for strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Britain in the field of media and information.

Talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew in Islamabad today, Firdous Ashiq Awan said media is one of the effective tools to promote people to people contacts among nations.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen existing cooperation in the field of media and communication besides putting emphasis on boosting joint efforts to counter extremism and terrorism.

Addressing an Iftar Dinner event in Islamabad this evening, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government is committed to provide all possible assistance to media industry.

She said the government will also work together with private sector to convert the traditional media into digital media.

The Special Assistant said that the protection of national interest should be our joint priority.

The event was attended by people from different walks of life including Journalists.
