Deadlock persists in Parliamentary committee meeting as both sides lock horns

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Parliamentary committee for the preparation of Terms of References has ended without any breakthrough and deadlock still exist between government and opposition members.

As per details, Parliamentary committee meeting was held here at today in parliament house to discuss the TORs for inquiry commission to probe into panama leaks.

On the commencement of meeting, the participants of the committee offered prayer for PM Nawaz for his early recovery. After that suggestions were considered by both government and opposition members to end the deadlock however both sides were not ready to withdraw over their respective stance.

The meeting ended without any breakthrough while next meeting of Parliamentary committee would be held on Saturday at 4 p.m.

While talking to media after meeting, Aitzaz Ahsan said that opposition stance is clear that process of accountability should be started from PM Nawaz and his family but government want to safe Sharif family. He further added that opposition demands are very fair and relevant but government is not ready to accept our demand.

Speaking at the occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that government behavior is not positive on ending the deadlock and opposition would stage protest if opposition proposals are not accepted by government.
