Leaders of the country’s opposition parties on Thursday expressed theirsatisfaction that they had the required numbers in the NA to oust thePakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government.
In an important meeting at the residence of the Leader of the Opposition inthe National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)President Shehbaz Sharif’s home in Islamabad, the opposition leaders vowedthat in the light of the constitution, they would exercise their right tovote on the no-trust motion on the given day, and made it clear to PrimeMinister Imran Khan that they will not give him an NRO at any cost.
They also rejected reports doing rounds on media and said such reportscould not dent the opposition’s resolve to vote on the motion. All thesereports are misleading, they declared.
The opposition parties’ leaders said that by getting the no-confidencemotion against the government passed, they would help usher in a new era ofdemocratic norms and traditions.
