SWAT – *Malala Yousafzai on Saturday arrived in her hometown Swat in KhyberPakhtunkhwa five years after she was shot and injured by a Taliban gunman.*
Top military officials welcomed the Nobel laureate who broke into tearsafter landing in her hometown.
She was comforted by her parents who were accompanying her during the visit.
The visit by the 20-year-old Nobel laureate was kept tightly under wrapsand she was accompanied by the Pakistani military, who were providing heavysecurity, as well as her mother and father and two brothers.
After flying by army helicopter to the northwestern region from Islamabad,she met with friends and family before visiting the all-boys Swat CadetCollege Guli Bagh, some 15 kilometres (nine miles) outside of Mingora, thedistrict´s main town.
She looked happy on arrival at the school, where she is expected to speakwith students before returning to Islamabad.
State Minister for Information Maryyium Aurangzeb is also accompanyingMalala Yousafzai who returned to Pakistan in the night between March 28 and29.
She was attacked on October 9 in Mengora area of Swat while returning tohome from school.
She was shifted to Peshawar in critical condition from where she was moveda hospital in Rawalpindi.
The young girl was later shifted to the UK after her condition becamestable.
