*PESHAWAR: *An earthquake of high intensity jolted parts of Pakistan onFriday night.

Upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday night felt jolts butno causalities or property damages were reported.

According to the geological wing of PMD (Pakistan MeteorologicalDepartment), tremors measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale were feltin Peshawar, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swat, Mingora, Chitral, Mardan, Malakand,Kohistan and various other surrounding areas. People of the areas wereasleep at the time but woke up and vacated their homes in panic.

The epicentre of the quake was stated to be in Tajikistan, 230 kilometresbeneath the earth’s crust.
